Pizza cake!!
So tonight we're going to a murder mystery party for a friend's birthday, and the theme is surrounding the murder of a New York Italian Restaurant owner. Wanting to bring a gift on theme, me and Tommy made this EPIC pizza cake, presented in an actual (new and clean) pizza box...NOM NOM NOM!!
For the "tomato purée" base, we made strawberry flavoured butter cream, and smeared over the top of the cake.
For the cheese topping, we grated half a bar of white chocolate and cut strawberry shaped sweets into circles as "pepperoni".
Making the "olives" was quite a surgical procedure. I'm not sure of the actual name of these, but using the liquorice tubes with the white sugary filling from a packet of liquorice alsorts, I sliced into circles and removed the filling. The "ham" was made up of a wide fizzy lace cut into strips.
Finally, we added green jelly beans to act as "peppers" and mushroom sweets as "mushrooms". MMM!
This pizza cake wouldn't be complete without a box, so I managed to bag a box from a takeaway, which has been edited by Tommy to tie in with the theme of the party...
Looks good enough to eat!
